Henri Kuprashvili ( Georgian ჰენრი კუპრაშვილი [ ˈhenri ˈkupraʃvɪlɪ ]; born  September 13, 1946 in Chaschuri ; also Henry Kuprashvili ) is a Georgian historian , political scientist and journalist .

Life

Kuprashvili is the son of Otar Kuprashvili (1924–1974) and Nora Lapiaschwili (* 1925). He has a doctorate in political science , historian and journalist. He is also Vice Colonel, State Advisor 1st Class and Professor at the Technical University of Georgia. As an athlete, he is President of the Federation of National Swimming Sports and Head Swimming Coach of the Georgian Paralympic Team.

Henri Kupraschwili is married to Ludmila Kowalets-Kupraschwili. The couple have four children.

Trivia

On August 30, 2002, Kuprashvili was the first to swim through the Dardanelles Strait in the Georgian military swimming style "Kolchuri", that is, with legs and arms tied at four points, and it took 3 hours and 15 minutes. The TV station CNN called him a "human dolphin".
