Henri Puget

Henri Puget (* 1813 in Marseille ; † after 1865) was a French opera singer ( tenor ).

Life

Puget studied at the conservatory in his hometown and received awards in singing, solfège and declamation. After stays in Algiers and Toulon, he was engaged at the Nantes Opera. Here he sang leading roles in Les Mousquetaires de la reine and L'éclair by Jacques Fromental Halévy , Le comte Ory by Gioachino Rossini and Masaniello by Michele Carafa .

After further engagements in Marseille, Toulouse and Rouen, he was engaged at the Opéra-Comique in 1854 , where he performed the Chevalier Desgrieux in the world premiere of the opera Manon Lescaut by Daniel-François-Esprit Auber (1856) and Corilla in Jacques Fromental Halévys Le Nabab (1853) sang. In 1865 he moved to the Théâtre-Lyrique . His son was the composer Paul Puget .
