Henri Reymond

Henri Reymond (born November 9, 1819 in Morges ; † July 2, 1879 there , entitled to live in Le Chenit and Morges) was a Swiss politician .

Life

Reymond was the manager of a tannery and ran it successfully. From 1852 to 1853 he was director of the Cantonal Bank of Vaud . He was later from 1856 to 1878 board member of this bank, and from 1870 to 1872 of the Union vaudoise de crédit .

In 1845 he was involved in the radical revolution and strongly promoted the Association patriotique . From 1845 to 1852 he was Prefect of Morges . He joined the opposition to Louis-Henri Delarageaz and supported their coalition, which overthrew the State Council of the canton of Vaud in 1862 . Reymond took a seat on the Council of States from 1852 to 1853 . In the parliamentary elections in 1866 he was elected to the National Council, to which he was a member until 1877.
