Henri Richardot

Henri Richardot (born February 7, 1845 in Reims , Marne department , † December 7, 1927 in Cavalaire-sur-Mer , Var department ) was a French lawyer and writer .

Richardot was the son of lawyer Aimé L. Richardot and his wife Louise S. Bureau. Richardot had two sisters, Aimée Blanche and Françoise Berthe. After finishing school he studied law .

Richardot took part in the Franco-Prussian War and after the end of the war he established himself as a notary in Longjumeau in the Essonne department in 1871 . As such, he married Marie-Thérèse Desforges (1854–1900).

In addition to his work as a lawyer, Richardot also began literary work and he became a "corresponding member" of the Académie nationale in his hometown. Through this connection he made the acquaintance of some members of the Parnassia . The publisher Alphonse Lemerre then invited him to work on the later famous anthology Le Parnasse contemporain . Today Richardot is counted to the circle of this literary association. As a writer, Richardot signed “H. Richardot "; Occasionally he also used the pseudonym "Dachères".

When the monument to Joan of Arc (created by Paul Dubois ) was inaugurated on July 15, 1896 at Place du Parvis in Reims , Richardot not only gave the speech, but also wrote a rhymed laudation , which he also delivered.

During the First World War Richardot served as mayor of Flogny-la Chapelle in the Yonne department .
