Henrique Cazes

Henrique Leal Cazes (born February 2, 1959 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian cavaquinho player, composer and arranger and radio presenter.

Life

Henrique Cazes is the son of the guitarist and composer Marcel Cazes. His brother is the percussionist Beto Cazes . Henrique Cazes is self-taught and started playing the guitar at the age of seven . In the course of time he became interested in other instruments such as cavaquinho , banjo , viola caipira , mandolin and tenor guitar . His musical career began in 1976 with the group Coisas Nossas . In 1980 he joined his brother Beto Cazes as a member of the renowned Camerata Carioca ensemble , which included mandolinist Joel Nascimento and pianist Radamés Gnattali . In 1988, Selo Musicazes began his success as a cavaquinho player with the record production . In the same year he published a school for cavaquinho (Escola moderna do cavaquinho). He continued to work as a record producer and composed music for television, films and the theater. In 2002, Cazes began arranging a number of Beatles tracks in the style of choro and other Brazilian rhythms, which have since been released on four CDs. In 2004 he developed and presented the program Nacional Choro Clube at the Rádio Nacional AM , in which many well-known Brazilian musicians of choro and samba were presented. Henrique Cazes is currently one of the most important protagonists of cavaquinho in Brazil.
