Belmonte in Sabina is a municipality in the province of Rieti in the Italian region of Lazio with 639 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is located 78 km northeast of Rome and 35 km northwest of Rieti .

geography

Belmonte is located on an elongated ridge above the Turano valley in the Sabine Mountains . The districts are Prime Ville, Seconde Ville, Terze Ville, Sant'Elena, Zoccani, Bivio Parigi, San Nicola, Cava and Turano.

Belmonte is a member of the Comunità Montana del Turano .

The neighboring towns are Longone Sabino , Rieti , Rocca Sinibalda and Torricella in Sabina .
