Cottanello is a municipality in the province of Rieti in the Italian region of Lazio with 530 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is 74 km north of Rome and 25 km west of Rieti .

geography

Cottanello is located in the Sabine Mountains on the border with Umbria . It is a member of the Comunità Montana Sabina .

The districts of Cottanello are Castiglione, Colle della Fonte and Le Piane.

The neighboring towns are Configni , Contigliano , Greccio , Montasola , Stroncone ( TR ) and Vacone .
