Collegiove is a municipality in the province of Rieti in the Italian region of Lazio with 140 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is located 79 km northeast of Rome and 50 km southeast of Rieti .

geography

Collegiove is located above Lake Turano and the Turano Valley . It is located below Monte Carseolani in the Sabine Mountains . A large part of the municipality is part of the Monti Navegna e Cervia nature reserve . It is a member of the Comunità Montana del Turano .

The neighboring towns are Ascrea , Collalto Sabino , Marcetelli , Paganico Sabino , Pozzaglia Sabina and Turania .

history

It is possible that the place was founded on a temple of Jupiter in antiquity . From the Middle Ages it belonged to the Principality of Collalto and shared its fate.
