Nespolo is 76 km northeast of Rome and 51 km southeast of Rieti . It lies above Lake Turano and the Turano Valley in the Sabine Mountains .

The municipal area extends over a height difference of 730 to 1,131 meters above sea level. Nespolo is a member of the Comunità Montana del Turano .

The community is located in earthquake zone 2 (medium risk).

The neighboring communities are Carsoli ( AQ ) and Collalto Sabino .
