Fiamignano is a municipality with 1259 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Rieti in the Italian region of Lazio .

geography

Fiamignano is located 105 km northeast of Rome , 34 km southeast of Rieti and 50 km southwest of L'Aquila . It is located in the Salto Valley above the Salto Reservoir, surrounded by the mountains of the Reatine Abruzzo . The municipality reaches the highest point in Monte Nuria, at 1,888 m slm. The community is located in earthquake zone 1 (highly endangered).

Fiamignano is a member of the Comunità Montana Salto Cicolano .

The neighboring communities are Antrodoco , Borgorose , Pescorocchiano , Petrella Salto , Scoppito ( AQ ) and Tornimparte (AQ).

Fiamignano is on the strada provinciale 67 Salto Cicolana SP 67 (formerly SS 578), which leads from Rieti via the A24 , Autostrada dei Parchi , exit Valle del Salto , to Avezzano . The next train station is in Rieti.
