The Abruzzo Apennines (in English mostly Abruzzo called) is up to 2912  m slm height of the highest part of the Apennines in Italy and, at the basin-shaped plateau Campo Imperatore in the region Abruzzo .

The limestone cliffs are similar to those of the Dolomites . The Corno Grande ( 2912  m slm ) within the Gran Sasso d'Italia and the Monte Amaro ( 2795  m slm ) within the Majella are the highest peaks of the mountain range.

The Abruzzo Mountains also include the Sabine Mountains , the Monti Ernici and the Majella Mountains .
