Cittaducale is an Italian commune in the province of Rieti in the Lazio region with 6599 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is located 85 km northeast of Rome and 11 km east of Rieti .

geography

Cittaducale is located in the Velino Valley, surrounded by the mountains of the Reatine Abruzzo . The districts of Calcariola, Cesoni, Grotti, Micciani, Pendenza and Santa Rufina belong to the municipality.

Cittaducale is a member of the Comunità Montana Montepiano Reatino .

The neighboring towns are Borgo Velino , Castel Sant'Angelo , Longone Sabino , Micigliano , Petrella Salto and Rieti .

Cittaducale is located on Via Salaria SS 4 which leads from Rome via Ascoli Piceno to the Adriatic coast near Porto d'Ascoli . The municipality is also located with the Cittaducale train station on the Terni - Sulmona railway line .
