The Comunità Montana Montepiano Reatino is an association of twelve municipalities in the Italian province of Rieti . It was formed by the usually quite small communities, which are at least partly in mountainous regions, in order to strengthen the region's economic development and to stop the population from emigrating. Further tasks are the strengthening of tourism, nature conservation and the preservation of rural culture. The seat of the Comunità is in Rieti , although the city itself is not part of the association.

The area of ​​the Comunità Montana includes the lower valley of the Velino with the north adjoining Monti Reatini , part of the central Italian Abruzzo . The highest point is the Monte Terminillo (2212 m).
