The Henry lady's slipper ( Cypripedium henryi ) is a species of the genus Cypripedium in the orchid family (Orchidaceae).

The Henry lady's slipper is a perennial plant with a rhizome that reaches heights of 30 to 55 centimeters. The stem is hairy and has four or five leaves. They are oval to broadly lanceolate in shape, pointed at the end and measure 10 to 21 × 4.6 to 8.5 centimeters. The inflorescence contains two to three flowers . The flower stalk and ovary are covered with white, glandular hair. The petals are green, the lateral petals are usually somewhat twisted. The upper sepal measures 3.5 to 4.5 centimeters in length and 1 to 1.5 centimeters in width, the other two petals are completely fused together, this synsepal is just as large, slightly incised at the tip. The petals are a little longer and narrower. The lip is green, rarely yellowish, and has a length of 1.5 to 2.7 centimeters. The staminodium is oval and measures 6 to 7 × 3 to 4 millimeters.

Flowering time is in May.

The number of chromosomes in the Henry lady's slipper is 2n = 22, two more than most other Cypripedium species.

Occurrence

The Henry lady's slipper occurs in western China in Guizhou, northwest Yunnan, Sichuan, southern Gansu and southern Shaanxi in deciduous forests, grass corridors and bushes at altitudes of (800) 1800 to 2800 meters. It grows in soils rich in humus.

The Henry lady's slipper is rarely used as an ornamental plant for vessels.
