Henry Freulich

Henry Freulich (born April 14, 1906 in New York City , † December 4, 1985 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American cameraman .

Life

Henry Freulich came to film in 1923 and began his career as a camera assistant and still photographer at Universal Studios , where he stayed for four years. He then worked for seven years as a still photographer and second cameraman for First National Pictures . There he worked for example at the side of the head cameraman Sidney Hickox in the 1929 film " Footlight and Fools ".

After Warner Bros. took over the production studio, he moved to Columbia Pictures , where he later rose to become chief cinematographer. He only shot B and C productions (westerns, crime novels and comedies as well as various series products such as the Blondie films), including various Stooges films, and, after serving as a cameraman in the Pacific War in World War II , was until the end of his career 1968 involved in over 200 film and television productions.

He died in his sleep on December 4, 1985 in his Los Angeles home.
