Henry Hagemann

Henry Hagemann (born September 6, 1910 in Copenhagen ; † April 5, 1964 there ) was a Danish jazz musician ( tenor saxophone , also clarinet , arrangement ).

Act

Hagemann became a professional musician in 1931. During his career he first played in dance orchestras, from 1936 in the groups of Kai Ewans and from 1939 with Leo Mathisen , with whom there were also recordings. From 1944 to 1949 he directed his own sextet; with his full brass there were also recordings. He then worked primarily as a theater musician, first with Hans Schreiber in the Fiffer Revyen and later in the Cirkusrevyen . He was also engaged at Det ny Scala . He can also be heard on records by Matadorerne , Peter Rasmussen and His Swingin 'Seven , Cecil Aagaard and Svend Asmussens Orkester. Tom Lord had 23 recordings with him between 1936 and 1949.

He is played by Jesper Thilo in Jesper Høms feature film Take It Easy (1986), which deals with Danish jazz life in 1945 .
