Jesper Thilo (born November 28, 1941 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish jazz musician (saxophonist, clarinetist and flutist).

Thilo began playing the saxophone at the age of eleven; he studied classical clarinet at the Royal Conservatory of Music. He was the alto saxophonist with Danmarks Radios Big Band for 23 years and has worked in the Danish mainstream jazz scene since the 1960s . As a sideman he worked u. a. with recordings by Edmond Hall , JC Higginbotham , Roy Eldridge , Ben Webster , Coleman Hawkins , Benny Carter , Harry Sweets Edison , Eddie Lockjaw Davis , Vic Dickenson , Dizzy Gillespie and Clark Terry . Since the early 1970s, he released a number of albums under his own name on the record label Storyville and Music Mekka . He also worked with Klüvers Big Band . In 1977 he was the first musician to receive the prestigious Ben Webster Prize .
