Hugo Rasmussen
Hugo Rasmussen (born March 22, 1941 in Bagsværd , Gladsaxe , † August 30, 2015 ) was a Danish jazz musician ( double bass ).
Live and act
Rasmussen played in the Danish jazz scene from the 1960s a. a. with Carsten Dahl , Charlotte Halberg , Jens Søndergaard , Jesper Thilo and Niels Jørgen Steens Beatkapel, also with guest musicians in Scandinavia such as Doug Raney , Ben Webster , Coleman Hawkins , Clark Terry , Horace Parlan , Wild Bill Davison , Al Cohn , Duke Jordan , Teddy Wilson . In 1978 he presented the album Sweets to the Sweet under his own name . From the 1980s he was a. a. also member of Pierre Dørges New Jungle Orchestra. In the field of jazz he was involved in 146 recording sessions between 1965 and 2012. In 2009 he received the Ærespris (honorary award) of the Danish Music Award Jazz 2009 , which is presented by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry .
