Henry Hull (born October 3, 1890 in Louisville , Kentucky , † March 8, 1977 in Cornwall , Great Britain ) was an American film and stage actor .

Life

Henry Hull was from 1911 as an actor on theater stages in the USA. He was regularly seen on Broadway for decades , where he played the main role of the backwoodsman Jeeter Lester in the world premiere of the play The Tabakstrasse . From 1916 onwards, roles in the cinema were also added to Hull. With his slender figure, Hull was almost always limited to supporting roles, in which he often played bizarre types. Among his greatest successes were his appearances in the Jesse James films. He took on one of his few main roles with the impersonation of the title character in the horror film The Werewolf of London (1935). Up to and including 1966, Hull was seen in over 110 productions.

The actor was married to Juliet van Wyck Fremont, a granddaughter of the explorer John C. Frémont , from 1913 until her death in 1971 . They had three children. After the death of his wife, Hull moved to live with his daughter in England, where he spent the last years of his life and died in 1977 at the age of 86.
