The Henry Inlet is a narrow and icy bay just east of Hughes Peninsula on the north coast of the West Antarctic Thurston Island . It lies between the Hughes and Tinglof peninsula .
It was first mapped using aerial photographs taken by the United States Navy as part of Operation Highjump (1946–1947). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1960 after Robert Henry, who was involved in the inventory of geographic objects along the Eights coast as part of the US Navy expedition to the Bellingshausen Sea in February 1960 .
