Henry III Rugg (* 24. January 1999 in Montgomery , Alabama ) is an American American football poker players on the position of wide receiver for the Las Vegas Raiders in the National Football League (NFL).

He played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide and was selected twelfth by the Raiders in the 2020 NFL Draft .

Early years

Ruggs attended Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery, Alabama. As a senior, he had 38 pass receptions for 639 yards and a total of 20 touchdowns in nine games. Ruggs chose the University of Alabama to play college football.

college

As a freshman in Alabama in 2017, Ruggs had 12 pass receptions for 229 yards and six touchdowns. In the 2018 sophomore year, he had 46 pass receptions for 741 yards and 11 touchdowns. As a junior in 2019, he had 40 pass receptions for 746 yards and seven touchdowns. On January 6, 2020, Ruggs announced that he would be giving up his final year and taking part in the 2020 NFL Draft .

In the 2020 NFL Combine , Ruggs ran the 40 yard dash in 4.27 seconds, the fourth fastest time since electronic timing began in 1999. He was selected twelfth in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders. This made him the first wide receiver to be selected in the 2020 NFL Draft. His former college team-mate Jerry Jeudy was selected at position 15 , making two college receivers in the top 15 of a draft for the first time in the history of the NFL draft.
