Herbert Ashwin Budd

Herbert Ashwin Budd (* 1881 in Staffordshire ; † 1950 ) was a British painter who painted portraits and landscapes with oil paints.

Budd worked for London Transport in the 1930s and painted their posters. From 1907 he was a member of the Royal College of Art and exhibited at the New English Art Club and the Royal Academy . He was a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters from 1921 . He was mentioned in praise at the Salon de Paris in 1927. From 1929 to 1949 he taught at St Martin's School of Art.

Budd died in 1950. His works are preserved in the Imperial War Museum , the Royal Society of Chemistry , the City of London Corporation , The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery and other institutions.
