Herbert Boettger

Herbert Böttger (born August 8, 1898 in Krefeld , † May 23, 1954 in Büderich ) was a German painter.

From 1919 to 1925 Böttger attended the Düsseldorf Art Academy and studied with Heinrich Nauen and Franz Kiederich . Study trips to Italy, Switzerland and Austria followed.

In 1928 he became a member of the Rhenish Secession , Prussian State Prize , two years later he joined the Rhine group . 1931 Albrecht Dürer Prize of the city of Nuremberg. In 1937 Böttger's pictures were confiscated as degenerate and destroyed. 1960 Exhibition, Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen Düsseldorf Kunsthalle, Grabbeplatz, catalog.
