Herbert Bamlett

Herbert Bamlett (* 1882 in Gateshead , † October 1941 ) was an English football coach and referee .

Career

Bamlett is still the youngest referee ever to whistle in an FA Cup final . He was 32 when he oversaw the match between Liverpool FC and Burnley FC . In 1914, Bamlett began working as a football coach. He first coached Oldham Athletic during the club's golden age. He was also the coach of Wigan Borough , Middlesbrough FC and Manchester United , where he was replaced by Walter Crickmer in 1931 .
