Herbert Bauer (painter)
Herbert Bauer (born May 16, 1935 in New York ; † March 20, 1986 in Stuttgart ) was a representative of abstract painting in post-war Germany.
In 1951 Bauer began an apprenticeship as a color lithographer and studied from 1954 to 1959 at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart . In 1961 he became a master student of Fritz Winter at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kassel . From 1964 he worked as a freelance artist.
