Herbert Boje (born February 18, 1913 , † 2002 ) was a German football player on the position of the striker .

Life

Herbert Boje first played for SV Wustrow, which competed in the Gauliga Jeetze . At the end of the 1920s, Boje moved up to the 1st team and convinced with his skills. Under his direction, the SV Wustrow practiced the so-called buoy gyro, which made them a difficult opponent on the Fehl-Sportplatz in Wustrow, which opened in 1930. The municipal clubs from Salzwedel ( FC Salzwedel 09 ) and Klötze ( VfB Klötze ) were defeated several times. Nevertheless, winning the Gaume Championship did not succeed. Bojes talent made HSV aware of him, which in 1931 secured the services of the Wustrow director.

Time at HSV

He completed 3 league games for Hamburger SV in the 1931/1932 season, in which he scored 2 goals. He also played in the HSV jersey against Vienna Wien , the Dresdner SC , played point games and was a substitute in the Berlin-Hamburg comparison.

For the first time he was able to draw attention to himself in the game against Wandsbeker FC on June 21, 1931, when he was still part of the HSV reserve.

After the game against Vienna Wien on August 2, 1931, which he completed as a striker, he was referred to by the Hamburger Anzeiger at least as a storm hope. In the 3: 7 defeat he was the goal scorer to the 3: 4 in the meantime. The Altonaer Nachrichten certified him an achievement "without special features".

In the follow-up report of the game against Dresdner SC on the occasion of the Central German Association Day on August 15, 1931 in front of 10,000 spectators in the Ostragehege, which ended 2-2, the Dresdner Latest News noted:

" (...) the youthful storm, in which the two wingmen Gröber and Sveistrup as well as the half-right buoy were pleasantly noticed (...) "

He was a substitute for the comparison of cities against Berlin on September 6, 1931.

After the match against FC St. Pauli on September 20, he was heavily criticized in the Hamburger Anzeiger despite the 4-2 success.

Back in Wustrow

For family reasons he soon returned home. More than 300 spectators then traveled to the Salzwedeler Flora on January 31, 1932, where SV Wustrow lost 2-0 to FC Salzwedel 09. In the 1932/33 season Boje took part with SV Wustrow in the league game in Gau Altmark, against much larger clubs such as Singer Wittenberge or Viktoria Stendal .

In 1949, the SV was promoted to the amateur league 3 with the still active buoy and the later FIFA referee Gerhard Schulenburg .
