Herbert Frese

Herbert Frese (* July 12, 1958 , † March 11, 2014 in Wetterburg ) was a German Ju-Jutsu functionary.

Life

Herbert Frese began his sporting career with karate and boxing . During his training as a police officer , he got to know Ju-Jutsu and began to get involved there. In 1981 he founded a Ju-Jutsu department in Bad Arolsen . From 1986 he began to contest Ju Jutsu competitively. He was three times Hessen champion, five times West German champion and took third and twice second place in the German championship. As a trainer, he was initially an examination officer in the Hessian Ju-Jutsu Association and from 1995 to 2003 1st chairman. In 2000 he was appointed President of the German Ju-Jutsu Association (DJJV) and was both a member of the Conference of Central Associations and a member of the working group of the duel associations in the German Olympic Sports Confederation . On July 12, 2010 he was awarded the 7th Dan .

From 2012 until his death in 2014 he was President of the Ju-Jitsu European Union . In 2013 he was named Honorary President of the Ju-Jitsu International Federation (JJIF).

He died on March 11, 2014 after a long illness.

Herbert Frese published several non-fiction books on Ju-Jutsu in Ullstein Verlag as well as textbooks for police training.
