Herbert Fritsch (artist)

Herbert Fritsch (born April 24, 1945 in Düns , † October 20, 2007 in Feldkirch ) was an Austrian artist .

Life

Herbert Fritsch was born in Düns and grew up in Übersaxen . After studying at the teacher training college in Feldkirch (1960-1965), he worked as a teacher for several years and in 1969 had his first exhibition.

1974 to 1980 he studied in Vienna at the Academy of Fine Arts with Maximilian Melcher . Since 1970 Herbert Fritsch has worked in teacher training at the Pedagogical Academy Feldkirch . Between 1972 and 1975 he created graphic cycles on legends from Vorarlberg . Since 1975, cycles in ceramic gold painting have been created.

Herbert Fritsch's work was significantly shaped by trips to Greece since 1981 (Peloponnese, Delphi, Olympia, Mycenae, Greek islands) and from 1985 to 1987 by trips to Morocco (royal cities and the south). The two picture cycles “The Walls Described” and “Letters from Black Indigo” were created.
