Herbert Glaeser

Herbert Glaeser (born May 13, 1899 in Waldenburg , Silesia; † March 3, 1958 in Wüsting ) was a German politician ( BHE ) and member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

Glaeser attended high school in Waldenburg and graduated from high school in order to volunteer in the First World War. After the end of the war he began studying at a university in Wroclaw . During his studies in 1919 he became a member of the Arminia Breslau fraternity . He took part in the Upper Silesian uprising as a volunteer and was later employed in the animal breeding office in Neustadt / Upper Silesia . Glaeser also took part in the Second World War and was captured by the Soviets. After the war he went to Lower Saxony as a refugee and worked at the Oldenburg airfield.

politics

Glaeser has been active in the organization of expellees in the community and district since it was founded. He was the first district chairman of the Central Association of Expelled Germans in the district of Oldenburg-Land and the first district chairman of the BHE. He was a councilor and member of the Oldenburg-Land district council. He was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament in the 2nd and 3rd electoral periods from May 5, 1951 until his death. The most important political office was the chairmanship of the Forest Affairs Committee from November 6, 1953 to November 23, 1954.

Herbert Glaeser died on March 3, 1958 in Wüsting.
