Herbert Haselbacher

Herbert Haselbacher (born March 21, 1952 ) is an Austrian entrepreneur and former basketball player .

career

Haselbacher won the Austrian championship title eleven times with UBSC Vienna (the team changed its name several times) in the 1970s and early 1980s. There were also appearances in the European Cup. With the Austrian national team he was promoted from group C to group A in 1977, and in September 1977 Haselbacher took part with the team at the European Championship in Belgium  , where he scored an average of 15.7 points per match in seven tournaments. In May 1980 he was one of Austria's selection that competed in the elimination tournament for the Summer Olympics. With 14.3 points per game, he was the team's second best thrower behind Erich Tecka .

Haselbacher worked professionally as an entrepreneur in the hospitality industry, and as managing director of WSF Immobilien und Mobilien Vermietungsgesellschaft was responsible for the construction and operation of hotels in several countries, including Austria, Hungary , Croatia and the Czech Republic . He also took over the operation of golf courses, including in Wienerberg and the Richardhof in Gumpoldskirchen . In addition, he was a partner and managing director of other companies in the construction, real estate, hotel and building management industries. In 2018 Haselbacher merged the hotel real estate business of the WSF Group he founded in 1991 under the name Almanac and expressed the plan to "create a fine group of 20 Almanac hotels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa within the next five years".
