Herbert Hermesdorf

Herbert Hermesdorf (born July 17, 1914 in Euskirchen ; † October 9, 1999 in Bonn ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

Hermesdorf studied from 1933 to 1939; he received his doctorate from Max Braubach in Bonn with a dissertation on Cologne and the Curia 1583–1784. From 1939 to 1944 he was a military service in the Wehrmacht and made it up to the battalion commander. There he came into American captivity. From 1946 he worked in higher education and in 1952 became senior director of studies. He was a member of K.St.V. Arminia Bonn .

Political party

Hermesdorf joined the CDU in 1946. From 1954 he was district chairman of the CDU in Schleiden .

MP

From July 21, 1958 to October 21, 1969, Hermesdorf was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . In the 1969 Bundestag election , he was elected to the Bundestag as a direct candidate in the Düren constituency. He was a member of the Bundestag for one electoral term from 1969 to 1972.

Public offices

From 1975 to 1984 Hermesdorf was mayor of Schleiden .
