Herbert Moser (politician)

Herbert Moser (born March 28, 1947 in Tuttlingen ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and, as a ministerial advisor on leave, was managing director of the Landesstiftung Baden-Württemberg (since 2010 Baden-Württemberg Stiftung gGmbH ), one of the largest foundations under private law in Germany and its sub-foundations “Kinderland Baden-Württemberg”, “Artur Fischer Inventor Award Baden-Württemberg ” and “ Culture Prize Baden-Württemberg ”. From 2009 to 2010 he was a member of the supervisory board of Stadtwerke Tuttlingen .

Life

After graduating from high school in Tuttlingen, Moser did military service from 1967 to 1968. As a track and field athlete, he was multiple Württemberg youth, junior and senior champions over 400 and 800 meters, South German champion, participant in the UNIVERSIADE in Turin, the CISM World Championships 1968 in Athens (bronze medal), the European Indoor Championships in 1969 in Belgrade (bronze medal), des European Athletics Cup in Stockholm 1970 (bronze medal) and multiple member of the German national athletics team of the DLV and the Olympic team. With the 4 x 400 meter relay of VfB Stuttgart, he became German champion (indoor) in 1970.

After completing his military service, he studied biology and sport in Tübingen for teaching at grammar schools . After graduating, he taught at high schools in Rottweil and Tuttlingen.

From 1992 to 1996 he was head of division in the Ministry for Family, Women, Further Education and the Arts.

Moser is married and has two children. He has lived in the south of France since June 2011.

He is a founding member of the Stauffenberg Society Baden-Württemberg eV and was a member of the board of trustees of the Max Planck Institute for Metals Research Stuttgart .

Political career

Herbert Moser was elected to the Tuttlingen City Council in 1971, to which he was a member until 2011. From 2002 to 2011 he was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group there. From 1973 to 2005 he was a district councilor, until 2002 chairman of the SPD district parliamentary group. In 1976, Moser was elected to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg for the first time , to which he was a member until 1992, when he narrowly missed re-entry into parliament. From 1996 to 2006 he was again a member of the state parliament. In 2006 he no longer competed at his own request. Fritz Buschle became his successor.

Between 2000 and 2005 he was chairman of the finance committee of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament. He was a member of the broadcasting council of the SWF and SWR for 17 years and on the program advisory board of ARTE Germany for several years.

Herbert Moser was always elected via the second count for the Tuttlingen-Donaueschingen state constituency.
