Herbert Nice
Herbert Nette (born March 14, 1902 in Oberhausen ; † September 22, 1994 ) was a German editor and writer .
Life
Nice studied history , German and law . After his doctorate as Dr. jur. he worked from 1927 to 1941 as a feature editor for the Darmstädter Tagblatt and from 1941 to 1943 for the Kölnische Zeitung . After three years as literary director of Claasen & Roether Verlag in Darmstadt (1946–1949), he switched back to the features section, to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung . From 1954 to 1973, Nette was editor-in-chief at Eugen Diederichs Verlag in Düsseldorf .
In addition to numerous specialist texts (e.g. the linguistic work On the Metamorphosis of Words ), Nettes literary work primarily includes illustrated biographies that portray great personalities in history.
