Herbert Osterkamp
Herbert Osterkamp (born May 7, 1894 in Hamm (Sieg) , † March 17, 1970 in Dortmund ) was a German officer , most recently general of the artillery in World War II .
Life
Osterkamp served as an officer in the First World War . After the war he was a member of a volunteer corps and later switched to the Reichswehr . There he worked as a commander in various units. From 1930 Osterkamp was employed in the Reichswehr Ministry. In the Wehrmacht he worked as a department head in the Army High Command (OKH). From 1939 on he served as head of the Army Administration Office. In 1944 Osterkamp was appointed commander of Military District XII , based in Wiesbaden .

- Finnish Freedom Cross 1st Class with oak leaves and swords on March 25, 1942
- Clasp for the Iron Cross, 2nd and 1st class
- German silver cross on September 18, 1943
- Knight's Cross of the War Merit Cross with Swords on November 2, 1944
