Susanne Blumenthal (* 1975 in Bonn ) is a German pianist and conductor .

Live and act

Susanne Blumenthal was born in Bonn in 1975, studied German and school music at the University of Mainz and the University of Cologne and later conducting with a focus on choral conducting at the Folkwang University in Essen . She completed her exam concert in 2005 with the Bergische Symphoniker , the orchestra of the cities of Remscheid and Solingen .

From 1997 she led various vocal and instrumental ensembles, took over the direction of the Tonart choir in 2001 , which she headed as conductor until January 2014, from April 2003 also led the Volksbühne Bergisch-Neukirchen as a conductor, founded the vocal ensemble O: TON in 2005 and took over from August 2006 tasks as musical assistant of the Philharmonic Choir in Cologne . At the beginning of 2006 Susanne Blumenthal founded the Helios Ensemble , a quartet of voice , trumpet , cello and piano , to which she contributed herself as a pianist. In 2007 she won first prize at the Bergische Symphoniker's female conductor competition, where she received a scholarship from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for the 07/08 season and directed various concert productions of the orchestra. At the end of 2008, she founded the EOS Chamber Orchestra Cologne for music of the 20th and 21st, together with the baritone Hartmut Schulz and the trumpeter Susanne Knoop . Century.
