Herbert Würschl

Herbert Würschl (born September 12, 1952 in Althofen , Styria ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and teacher .

Life

Herbert Würschl attended the secondary school in Murau after primary school in Peterdorf . In 1971 he graduated from high school in Murau. He then graduated from the Pedagogical Academy in Klagenfurt and passed the teaching examination in 1975. In the same year Würschl became a teacher in Klagenfurt. He initially worked in this profession for 14 years. During this time he was the teaching staff representative and was elected to the central committee chairman of the Carinthian compulsory school teachers. In 1989 he became vice-president of the Carinthian state school board. He held this position until 2000.

In 1990, Würschl was elected regional chairman of the Social Democratic Teachers' Association of Austria (SLÖ). He was a union member and from 1997 to 2000 held the position of regional chairman of the public service union (GÖD) in Carinthia. From 2000 to 2005, Würschl was regional manager of the SPÖ-Carinthia . From 2000 to 2002 he was Federal Councilor. Würschl has been employed in the school department of the Carinthian state government since 2005 and was appointed education coordinator by Governor Peter Kaiser in 2015 .

Herbert Würschl lives in Maria Saal . He is the father of four children.
