Herbert Wadsack

Herbert Wadsack (born February 19, 1912 in Knittelfeld , Styria , † July 15, 2004 in Vienna ) was an Austrian writer .

Life

Herbert Wadsack served in the Wehrmacht from 1941 to 1945 and became a prisoner of war. In 1947 he moved to Floridsdorf . From 1947 to 1957 he was a factory worker and from 1957 to 1972 librarian at the Wiener Städtische Libraries .

In 1984 Wadsack received the Silver Medal of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria and was a member of the Austrian Writers' Association and the PEN Club .
