Herebord from Bismarck

Herebord von Bismarck (also: Herbord, Heribert, Herbert ), documented Herbordus de Bismarck , (* around 1200 in Stendal ; † June 9, 1280 ibid) is the first historically verifiable representative of the Bismarck family , in particular the Chancellor of the North German Confederation and of the German Empire Otto von Bismarck came from. He lived in the 13th century and was first mentioned in 1270 as a guild master (also Aldermann , as the oldest of the guild) and mayor in Stendal. The name goes back to the small town of Bismark (Altmark) west of Stendal . His great-grandson, Nikolaus von Bismarck (Klaus), was "probably the first knight by birth " of the family.
