Heribert Busse

Heribert Busse (born April 26, 1926 in Duderstadt ) is a German scholar of Islam .

Life

After graduating as Dr. phil. in Mainz in 1956 he was a consultant at the Orient Institute in Beirut from 1964 to 1965 . After his habilitation in Hamburg in 1965, he taught as a visiting professor in Bordeaux in 1970 and became an adjunct professor in Bochum in 1971 and full professor in Kiel in 1973 . In 1979 he became a fellow at the Israel Institute for Advanced Studies. He retired in 1991.
