history
From 1925 until its bankruptcy in 2018, Lierse SK played in the Vanderpoorten Stadium . The venue is named after the Belgian politician Herman Vanderpoorten ; who died in September 1984. After the last renovation in 2009, the stadium held 14,538 seats for visitors. There were 10,227 covered seats and 4,311 uncovered standing places. The sports facility was also equipped with three boxes, 102 VIP seats and 522 business seats. There were 56 jobs available for journalists and reporters. As early as 2009 there were plans to demolish and replace the three older stands.
The successor club Lierse Kempenzonen has been playing there since 2018. The stadium currently has 13,539 seats. There are unspecified expansion plans.
