Hermann-Peter Eberlein

Hermann-Peter Eberlein (* 1957 in Wuppertal ) is a Protestant pastor and church historian.

Life

Eberlein studied history, theology and philosophy in Cologne , Bonn and Heidelberg . From 1981 to 1983 he was vicar in Saarbrücken and from 1983 to 1985 pastor and parish administrator in Wuppertal, since then he has been pastor there . After completing his doctorate in Heidelberg in 1989 with a thesis on Franz Overbeck , he was a lecturer in church history from 2001 to 2002 and from 2012 to 2013 at the Church of Wuppertal and from 2006 to 2007, from 2011 to 2012 and from 2016 to 2017 at the University of Wuppertal . Since 2018 he has been teaching Rhenish church history at the University of Bonn.

He is a member of the Vormärz Research Forum, the Commission for Church History of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland and co-editor of the Yearbook for Evangelical Church History in the Rhineland and the series of publications of the Association for Rhenish Church History . He regularly publishes reviews in the theological journal of the University of Basel and articles in the Berlin world stage successor "Das Blättchen".
