Hermann Emil Ahlswede (born December 4, 1869 , † September 19, 1935 in Leipzig ) was a German diplomat and benefactor.

Life

Ahlswede was Consul General for Iran in the German Reich and was based in the trade fair city of Leipzig, Nikolaistraße 25. During the First World War, he founded the Hermann Ahlswede Foundation in Leipzig .

He was married to Wilhelmine Ahlwede (1882–1974). Max Alfred Brumme created a tomb for the Ahlswede family in the Südfriedhof Leipzig, XI. Department. It was restored in 2015 on behalf of the Paul Benndorf Society.
