Hermann Albert (painter)

Hermann Albert (born July 4, 1937 in Ansbach ) is a German painter and university professor .

Live and act

Hermann Albert studied at the State University of Fine Arts in Braunschweig with Peter Voigt . For example, he took part in the following group exhibitions: 1967/68 Deutscher Künstlerbund " Akt 68 ", Städtische Kunsthalle, Recklinghausen. Solo exhibitions took place in 1967 in the self-help gallery Großgörschen 35 , Berlin, in 1968 in the gallery Pforte , Aachen, 1969 in the gallery Poll , Berlin, and in 1970 in the gallery Cornels , Baden-Baden.

In 1971 he received a scholarship from the Villa Romana in Florence. At Documenta 6 1977 in Kassel he was represented in the drawing area. Since 1973 he concentrated more and more on drawings, in 1974 switched from acrylic paints to muted tempera tones, and during this time the people depicted also switched from philistines to peasant types in landscapes.

From 1985 to 2001 Albert worked as a university professor at the Braunschweig University of Art.
