Hermann Angstenberger

Hermann Angstenberger (born June 30, 1929 in Aalen ; † March 23, 2019 ) was a German church musician and composer .

Act

After studying church music and studying to be a teacher in Ehingen (Danube) , Schwäbisch Gmünd and Rottenburg am Neckar , Hermann Angstenberger took over the management of the Röthardt men's choir near Aalen in 1952 and, from 1956, the leadership of the Oberkochen singing association. From 1959 to 1989 he led the choir of the Salvatorkirche in Aalen for 30 years . From 1991 until his retirement in 2000 he was finally active as the conductor of the church choir of the parish church of the Immaculate Conception in the Ebnat district of Aalen . Hermann Angstenberger was also the choir representative of the Deanery Aalen (today: Deanery Ostalb) and as such was responsible for the training of the choir directors.

As a composer, Hermann Angstenberger created several masses for mixed choir and orchestra or organ, as well as motets and sacred songs.
