Hermann Beste

Hermann Beste (born September 17, 1940 in Neubukow ) is a Protestant theologian and was regional bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mecklenburg from 1996 to 2007 .

Career

Hermann Beste studied Protestant theology at the universities of Leipzig and Rostock from 1958 to 1964 . In the years 1964 to 1965 the teaching vicariate and the attendance of the seminary , followed by the vicar time in Kirch Grambow .

From 1966 to 1986 was the best pastor of the parish Kirch Grambow. In 1986 he moved to Mecklenburgische Kirchenzeitung for five years , where he worked as editor-in-chief.

In 1991 he returned to the parish of Kirch Grambow as a pastor, but two years later he was appointed state superintendent for the Rostock -Land parish of the Mecklenburg regional church . He performed this task for three years.

In 1996 Hermann Beste was elected regional bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mecklenburg. He resigned from this office in March 2007. His successor was 45-year-old Andreas von Maltzahn .

The former regional bishop Niklot Beste was his father.

In autumn 2007 Beste was honored with a commemorative publication from the Theological Faculty of the University of Rostock as thanks for his support for the faculty.
