Hermann Cranz
Hermann Karl Georg Cranz (born August 12, 1883 in Stuttgart ; † February 6, 1944 in Hanover ) was a German engineer and professor of mechanics at the Technical University of Hanover .
Life
Hermann Cranz was born as the son of the mathematics professor Heinrich Cranz .
Cranz studied mechanical engineering at the TH Berlin and received his doctorate . In 1903 he joined the Alemannia Stuttgart fraternity . In Berlin he was an assistant to Otto Kammerer , whom he supported in researching wear and tear on gears in trams. From 1920 until his death he taught as a full professor of mechanics at the Technical University of Hanover. In November 1933 he signed the declaration of professors at German universities and colleges to Adolf Hitler in Leipzig .
