Hermann Hölty

Hermann Hölty (born November 4, 1828 in Uelzen , † August 15, 1897 in Bad Rehburg ) was a German Lutheran clergyman and poet.

Hermann Hölty, great-nephew of Ludwig Hölty , studied Protestant theology in Göttingen from 1849 , then held pastoral positions in Hoyershausen near Alfeld and in Holtensen near Hanover and worked as a pastor at St. John's Church in Hanover from 1863 until he retired in 1882 .

He published the poetry collections:
