Hermann Hansen (handball player)
Hermann "Hannes" Hansen (born October 31, 1912 in Königsberg ; † June 28, 1944 ) was a German field handball player .
Life
Hansen played for VfL Königsberg and SV Hamburg Police .
At the Olympic Games in 1936 Hansen took part in two national team games , but in the 10: 6 win in the final against Austria he was not part of the team. Two years after the Olympic victory, Hansen took part in the first men's field handball world championship in 1938 , and the German team also won the title here. He played a total of eleven international matches from 1934 to 1938 .
In the Second World War he was drafted into the Air Force. He did not return from an assignment; he is considered missing .
