Nestoras ( Greek Νέστορας ( m. Sg. ), Katharevousa : Nestor Νέστωρ) is a former municipality in southwest Messinia with the administrative seat in Chora and since 2011 the municipality of the newly created municipality Pylos-Nestor (for further breakdown see there ).
Attractions
The most famous attraction is a Mycenaean palace complex known as Nestor's Palace and located near the town of Ano Englianos. It is the Mycenaean Pylos, the capital and administrative center of an empire that ruled large parts of Messenia. Numerous finds from the excavations there are exhibited in a small museum located in the main town of Chora. In the border area to the neighboring municipality of Pylos lies the semicircular Voidokilia Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Peloponnese.
