Hermann II (Salm)

Hermann II von Salm (* 1087 ; † 1135 ) was a son of Hermann von Salm from the Salm family .

He inherited the areas in the Ardennes , through his wife he acquired extensive estates in Alsace and the Vosges. He also got the Pierre-Percée Castle through the inheritance of his wife Agnes von Bar (Mousson), a daughter of Dietrich von Mousson from the Scarponnois family .

He often stayed at the side of his brother Otto I von Rheineck . Hermann was Vogt of the Senones monastery . When Hermann died, the wife founded the Hauteseille monastery .

His sons were:

they inherited the property of Hermann II and divided it. Heinrich I received the areas in the Ösling area , Hermann III. the areas in the Alsace- Saverne area . Hermann III. had no descendants, so Heinrich's heirs only finally shared the property.
